Chicago, IL (February 21, 2023): Sente Ventures ("Sente") announces funding of Lombris, a startup with an integrated technology and business model for managing organic waste in urban environments to provide high-quality organic fertilizer for local farmers or global buyers.

 

Lombris worked with Sente’s team to dive deep into its business model, develop a plan for scaling, and refine its market segmentation and geographic expansion strategy. The company received a pre-seed cash investment and is initially launching in Puebla, Mexico, with plans to expand throughout North America.

 

“We’re excited to work with a company that has looked at the problem of household organic waste and is addressing it in a very unique way”, said Gerod Carfantan, Sente’s COO and head of its Circular Industrial Economy vertical. “We’ve seen a number of companies trying to encourage household composting, but Lombris has connected that value chain all the way to the farmer, closing the loop on the circular economy for organic produce.”

 

Lombris has addressed the common problems with traditional composting in cities with the method of vermicomposting, which decreases composting time and increases quality of the outputs, making it suitable for producing organic fertilizer in mass quantities from household waste inputs.
